Living in Chengdu

Postby Mwright on Oct 17th, '08, 14:23

For those of you thinking of living and working in Chengdu, my wife and I have found it to be very pleasant. The Apt we have rented is new, nice, and has most all the ammenities that we want, for about USD 500/mo. Linda Yang from VOR Holdings, helped us navigate the process of getting our Apt very successfully. It's in an area with a large community of Expats, with restaurants that serve western food. Now we have 2 more VOR Holdings pilots living here in the Apt complex, with two more on the way. It's turning out to be a lot of fun.

In Chengdu, you do the Hooter's Pokey and you turn yourself about. *That's*.... what it's all about.

Dutch -

Still wearing your Tommy Bahama silks I see! Isn't that the same shirt you wore to your Skybus interview?

Dutch,

I am still having nightmares about your "Hooters Pokey"..........

Here's a picture of my apartment in Chengdu, it is fully furnished two bed two bath plus large study. I think it is the biggest of all our apartments here in Chengdu at 150m square. it is also the most expensive at about $900 a month.

I believe that Dutch refers to it as "Shangrila, decorated in early Shanghai brothel".
